cookies
a cookie file is a small text file created by our web site on your computer hard drive that contains unique information our site can use to track such things as passwords, lists of pages you have visited, the date when you last looked at a specific page or to identify your session at a particular web site. a cookie is also sometimes loaded with butter and chocolate chips, but not in this application (sorry, but this whole page was getting a little dry right about now, so we had to lighten it up a bit). a cookie is often used in commercial sites to identify the items selected for a specific shopping cart application. while most browsers have an option that allows you to control the use of cookies, their use might provide some features that cannot be used if cookies are turned off.
third party links
this statement applies solely to information collected on our website. this website contains links to other sites. we have no control or influence over the privacy practices of other websites. we encourage you to read other websites' privacy statement(s) in order to understand how they process data about your visit to their site. our blog has relevant ads to sustainable products and services, but we have no control over those ads or third party links.
changes to our privacy statement
the simple house reserves the right to change this privacy statement from time to time. when we do, we will also revise the "last update" date at the top of this privacy statement. we encourage you to visit this page regularly to check for updated information and policies and also enjoy some light reading, because this is all just fascinating stuff.
security
the simple house strives to take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or disclosure. however, we do not warrant or represent that your personal information is completely safe from hackers and other security threats. if you have any questions about the security on this site, you can send an email to help@thesimplehouse.com.
